This year the Elegant Expressions of California elves have been busy piecing and longarm quilting to provide holiday gifts for the young cancer patients at Ronald McDonald House in Orange, California. We have completed 18 quilts which we will be delivering in early December. This is a philanthropy which is close to my heart, and it gives me a great pleasure to know that some youngers will be wrapping themselves with a cosy quilt while going through their treatments and recovery.
Here is a picture of part of the quilt collection:
Update: On December 6th, I delivered these quilts to the staff of Ronald McDonald House. They were delighted with this gift for the kids. All of the quilts were opened and passed around by the staff. These quilts will be distributed to the kids through the December Holidays. I got a "rush" of pleasure knowing that some young kids, going through devastating cancer treatments, will be able to snuggle with their quilts.
My thanks to my good friend, Danny Lamar-Bailey for her contribution of a lovely child's quilt.
After a brief holiday vacation, it will back to work piecing my 2008 gift for the kids.
